Quick Details
Take a trip with us through Cleveland’s brewing history. Guided by Cleveland Brew Bus owner and author of “Cleveland Beer: History and Revival in the Rust Belt,” Leslie Basalla-McCafferty, this tour combines walking and driving and visits several modern-day breweries housed in historic locations.
You will receive an informative tour of each facility, and a plethora of information about the former occupants and their neighbors. A driving portion of the tour will take you past the remaining buildings and ruins of other long-lost breweries.
The trip includes a walking tour of the Great Lakes Brewing Company campus and visits, with a tasting of three beers, to Bookhouse Brewing (located in the former Baehr Brewery) and Forest City Brewery (located in the former Atlantic Beer Garden). Complimentary light snacks will be provided at Forest City. Our third stop, Platform production (located in the former Leisy Brewing Co.) includes a full can of beer of the guest’s choice. After the tour, you may join Leslie for an optional Q&A and additional beverages (at own expense) at either Market Garden Brewery or Great Lakes (depending on date and availability).
Market Square Park, located directly across West 25th Street from the West Side Market. In the event of rain, we will meet inside Great Lakes Brewing Company’s brewpub, 2516 Market Avenue.
